Video surveillance products manufacturer Hikvision has introduced a range of 4K surveillance products. The 4K Total System features the company’s H.264+ Smart Codec, which reduces bandwidth and storage requirements by half, it’s claimed, compared to standard H.264 codecs while maximising video resolution.
The new 4K family includes ultra-high definition network cameras and network video recorders, all with a variety of Smart functions. The makers say that the products are for applications requiring high-resolution images and surveillance of large areas such as stadiums and car parks.
